Mestre
Mestre is a town in the municipality of Venice, of which it is the most populous urban agglomeration with 87 377 inhabitants. It is the main center of the Venetian mainland, which has about 180 000 inhabitants.
Already an autonomous municipality, in August 1926 Mestre was integrated into the Municipality of Venice and after World War II it welcomed its urban development, becoming home to residential districts, services and important economic and productive realities. Within the Municipality of Venice the territory of Mestre falls mainly under the municipality of Mestre-Carpenedo.
